Facebook announced that it has added job search and position posting tools in the U.S. and Canada. Businesses can post openings, track applicants, and communicate directly with candidates on the new platform. Organizations can also pay for targeted ads to boost views of their open positions.
Candidates can apply from within the job postings and will see their information auto-filled from their Facebook profiles. Once an application is submitted, a conversation opens up between the candidate and the organization.
More and more recruiters are using social media to find qualified candidates. While LinkedIn is still the top social site for recruiting, Facebook has been gaining traction, and these new features may narrow the gap.
